Her story: Before her diagnosis in 2002, Freda did not know any other women who were HIV-positive. She gave up her job as a hair stylist to educate other women about HIV. Today she is working in Atlanta as a peer educator, encouraging other women to know their status so that they can seek care and live a healthy life.
